Brixton Advice Service

The Brixton Advice Service is here to make sure no one in our community faces life’s challenges alone. Running twice a month on Saturdays (locations to be confirmed), the service offers free, confidential support on everything from Universal Credit and child benefits to school disputes, council appeals, housing, and everyday essentials.

You don’t need an appointment — just come with whatever issue you’re facing, and our team will work with you to find a solution.

To make the service accessible for everyone, Spanish translation is available on site.

    Help with new claims, renewals, and appeals if your application has been refused or reduced.

  • Child Benefits

    Support to make sure families receive the benefits they are entitled to, and guidance on appeals.

  • Pension & Pension Credit

    Assistance with Pension Credit, Attendance Allowance, claims to boost household income.

  • School & Education Support

    Advice on disputes with schools, support with governing boards, and help with appeals to ensure every child receives fair treatment.

  • Council Appeals

    Guidance and representation for appeals on decisions made by Lambeth Council, including housing and social services.

  • Business Plan Support

    Practical advice for small traders and start-ups — from writing business plans to finding funding and keeping money in Brixton.

  • Housing & Tenancy Rights

    Help challenging poor conditions, unfair evictions, and overcrowding, plus advice on accessing secure housing.

  • Immigration & Legal Support

    Signposting and support for visa issues, settlement rights, and navigating the system in partnership with trusted legal services.
